The above macros perform character tests and conversions on the integer c.

These functions, with the exception of isblank() and toascii(), conform to ANSI X3.159-1989 (“ANSI C89”).

The functions isalpha(), isupper(), islower(), isdigit(), isalnum(), isspace(), ispunct(), isprint(), iscntrl(), and isascii() first appeared in Version 7 AT&T UNIX.
