The le interface provides access to the 10 Mb/s Ethernet network via the AMD 7990 LANCE Ethernet chip set.

The le interface supports the following mvme68k hardware:

MVME147 onboard Ethernet interface
MVME376 VMEbus Ethernet card

For MVME376, the card's base address (matching the locator on the configuration line) is defined through three sets of DIP switches, “SW1” and “SW2”, located in the middle of the board, near the space between the two VME connectors, and “SW3”, closer to the AM7990DC chip at the bottom edge.

The only supported configurations are:

U__U____ ______U_ 0xffff1200
U__U_U__ ______U_ 0xffff1400
U__UU___ ______U_ 0xffff1600
U__UUU__ ______U_ 0xffff5400
U_U_____ ______U_ 0xffff5600
U_U__U__ ______U_ 0xffffa400

arp(4), inet(4), intro(4), netintro(4), hostname.if(5), ifconfig(8)

The mvme68k le interface first appeared in OpenBSD 2.0.
